I’m back! Life has been crazy busy lately, but summer is here, and travel is on the agenda!
A passion of mine is to find fashion exhibitions or specialist museums when I travel. One of my destinations whilst in The Big Apple was the Louis Vuitton NYC: Volez Voguez Voyagez exhibition situated in the New York American Stock Exchange building. This was not only a wonderful history of Louis Vuitton but showed how the organisation has grown from a single small Paris store in 1854 to the global empire it has now become. When you think of Louis Vuitton, monogrammed bags and totes come to mind, but it all began with travel, and who doesn’t love to travel?!
He built his reputation on creating exceptional luggage for any need, with exquisite detail, ranging from tiny draws to personalised items. I know that I wouldn’t mind a personalised Louis Vuitton case, talk about travelling in style.
From the moment you step in to the LV world, you are taken on an exciting journey where all ten themed rooms are like film sets including desert scenes, trains and aviation, even part of a single prop plane. I am thinking what you’re thinking- ‘this is incredible!’.One of the coolest things about this exhibition was the interactive app, which allows you to turn images into short films, linking to each themed room as you walk through, giving you a rich knowledge about Louis Vuitton. Of course, LV thought about us bloggers and included photograph features such as frames and filters.
It is exceptionally exciting to see so many pieces from private collections many belonging to famous people such as Christian Dior and Elizabeth Taylor. Christian Dior’s beautiful case is shown above.
If you ever have a chance to see this exhibition should it pop up somewhere else, make sure you make the time as this exhibition is unmissable!
Hope everyone is having a fabulous week!
