Last week my lovely Godmother treated me to a cocktail in Harvey Nichols and The Berkeley’s Fashionista’s afternoon tea, everything was delightful and it was a truly amazing experience from start to finish.
We were kindly taken through the uniquely designed décor to our very comfortable seats, and placed in front of us was a beautiful tea set and matching lilac coloured menus. These were clearly very carefully thought out as they described each thing with such detail.
First my Godmother and I looked at the tea menu, this was a tough choice as there were so many to choose from, from the more traditional to the more obscure. To make it even better, it was unlimited! Having chosen a light rose tea, we looked through the food menu; it contained a wide and unusual selection of savory and sweet treats, which all sounded divine!
This Prêt-à-Portea collection of exquisite biscuits, cakes and sandwiches took inspiration from distinguished fashion designers and their latest creations.
The fashionista’s tea included a collection of cakes and fancies inspired by the world’s finest designers including Gucci, Ralph & Russo, Stella McCartney, Emilio Pucci, Charlotte Olympia, Mulberry, Balenciaga, Miu Miu, and my personal favourite brand Dolce & Gabbana. These were all presented on a three tiered stand.
The sandwiches had many different fillings from the classics, such as salmon and cream cheese, to the more unique ones.
Do not be afraid to ask for more, they are very happy for you to do so and it is all so delicious you can’t help yourself.
London and afternoon tea are a classic combination. Being a fashion design student, this really was an amazing day and the perfect afternoon tea. The fashionista’s tea menu changes every six months to follow the fashion world.
If you are looking for an amazing afternoon tea I highly recommend The Berkeley, especially for some quality girl time!
